Abstract

Around 97–98% of the transcriptional output of the human genome is noncoding RNA, which is derived from noncoding RNA genes and from introns in protein-coding genes. These RNAs may form a higher-order regulatory network that integrates complex suites of gene activity during differentiation and development.
