Abstract

Proteomes represent the composition of the functional information-containing macromolecules (proteins) of an organism or a defined part of it. A global view of bacterial proteomes will illuminate basic biological principles such as the functioning of a cell and the elucidation of pathological important proteins for vaccine development, diagnosis and therapy of infectious diseases. Understanding of bacterial proteomes will illuminate basic biological principles such as the functioning of a cell and will allow the elucidation of pathological important proteins for vaccine development, diagnosis and therapy of infectious diseases.
