Objective: The aim of this paper is to report an aspect of the management of a case of dissociative fugue.

Clinical picture: A Vietnam veteran was suffering post-traumatic stress disorder.

Treatment: Treatment involved the provision of a locator beacon worn in a neck chain.

Outcome: This treatment resulted in the curtailment of the dissociative fugue episodes.
