This article corrects: Genetics of Food Preferences: A First View from Silk Road Populations

The paper entitled “Genetics of Food Preferences: A First View from Silk Road Populations” by Nicola Pirastu, Antonietta Robino, Carmela Lanzara, Emmanouil Athanasakis, Laura Esposito, Beverly J. Tepper, and Paolo Gasparini (DOI: 10.1111/j.1750-3841.2012.02852.x, published online August 13, 2012) was found to contain portions of unattributed or inadequately attributed text from previously published articles. These portions of text were found in the Introduction, Discussion, and Conclusions sections. The IFT Scientific Journals editorial office investigated this matter when an uncited author alerted us to the problem, after the paper was published in Early View but prior to assignment to an issue of the Journal. The data and analyses in the paper were found to be original; the errors in attribution were found to be an honest mistake on the part of one or more co-authors during early background collection and writing.
