The Editors gratefully acknowledge the reviewers who have dedicated their time and effort to the 2012 issues of Aging Cell.
As the 2012 year draws to a close, we reflect on what it has brought us. By any measure, the pressures on our economies and funding have been stressful, all around the globe. Most of us are feeling the pinch, and most of us are working harder than ever to keep up. We have definitely felt the repercussions at the Aging Cell: reviewers have been harder to recruit, times in review have gotten harder to manage, and patience at times has frayed. Managing the day-to-day business of the Aging Cell has grown to be a very complicated task, for which we have to give thanks to many people: the managing editors and production staff, the editorial board who act as supervising editors, but most of all to our numerous reviewers who have agreed to donate their time. For the editorial board and reviewers, all of this effort goes unpaid, and much of it gets done by stealing a few moments – on the way to the airport, after the kids have gone to sleep. At the same time, research into the biology of aging has grown exponentially, and what we are discovering is truly amazing.
The Editors of the Aging Cell would like to gratefully acknowledge all those that have made this possible, and above all, our reviewers. A full list of reviewers can be found at the back of this issue. These efforts collectively have made it possible to publish the leading research journal in our field.
With all of our best wishes for the Holiday Season and a productive (and well-funded!) New Year.
