The authors wish to correct two errors in the product name and manufacturers of the formulations used in this paper.

The first sentences of paragraph 5 and 6 of the Materials and methods should read:

One of two premedication protocols were used for each dog: acepromazine (0.05 mg/kg SC; ACP 2, Ceva Animal Health, Glenorie, NSW, Australia) or acepromazine (0.05 mg/kg) mixed with methadone (0.3 mg/kg SC; Methone® Injection, Parnell Australia, Alexandria, NSW, Australia).

General anaesthesia was induced with alfaxalone (Alfaxan®, Jurox, Rutherford, NSW, Australia) at a dose of 1.2–2 mg/kg intravenously to effect and maintained by inhalation of isoflurane (Baxter Australia, Toongabbie, NSW, Australia).
