The “transfer” model of communication sees the message as a discrete package, to be opened by a receiver whose knowledge and background are perceived to be essentially the same as those of the message's originator. Guess what? That's not how communication works.
The presenter reads the slides; the listeners check their email. There's got to be a better way to get the message across.
