During the year under consideration the Society's Collection has increased greatly in size, the stock of animals having been built up very much from the reduced numbers kept during the late war. Particular mention must be made of the large collections brought in by Mr. Frost in July and by Messrs. Tanner and Webb in October. In addition to these, many smaller collections and individual animals have been sent in by such friends of the Society as Mr. Cansdale from the Gold Coast and Mr. Mitchell from Nyasaland. Table 1 shows the number of animals in stock on December 31st, 1945, and December 31st, 1946, with the increase in stock for each type.
