Abstract

Phase equilibria studies in the system Al-Mg-O-N reveal a large homogenituy range of the magnesium-aluminum-oxynitride spinel with a constant anion sublattice nad idela or deficient cation sublattices. The compound 6AIN MgO has a hexagonal lattice with a = 0.2998 and c = 0.5328 am.
