In the chicken structure loop 6 is in ‘closed’ conformation with the active site glutamate in ‘swung in’ conformation. The bound inhibitor phosphoglycolohydroxamate is in ball-and-stick representation. In the ligand-free yeast and Tenebrio structures these glutamate side chains are in ‘swung-out’ conformation.
