Appendix S2. Modified AQUIL medium for culture experiments using Cladophora strains established from fresh, brackish and seawater, respectively. Each value indicates a final concentration (mol) in the working solution.
Appendix S3. Pairwise distance comparison of sequence variation in Cladophora glomerata and its related species from the aligned ribosomal ITS regions. The lower half of the matrix shows the actual number of base pair changes between sequences. The upper half of the matrix shows the corrected distances between sequences, calculated using maximum composite likelihood model (Tamura et al. 2004).
