A MODIFICATION OF DISSECTION TECHNIQUE FOR A SAFER LAPAROSCOPIC CHOLECYSTECTOMY

Abstract

Laparoscopic cholecystectomy has been associated with a rise in the rate of bile duct injury. A simple modification of a dissection technique that enables safer laparoscopic cholecystectomy is presented. This modification has resulted in a decreased risk of injury to the bile ducts and associated vasculature.
