Figure S1 Species richness-biomass relationship for selected vegetation types, with combined data from different regions: Germany, Czech Republic and Russia (Urals). Vegetation types were defined according to the dominant tree species (see Table 1): Quercus forests (Quercus petraea agg. and Q. robur), Carpinus-Quercus forests (Carpinus betulus, Quercus petraea agg. and Q. robur), and alluvial forests (Alnus glutinosa and Fraxinus excelsior). See Table 4 for statistics.
