      PhD in social anthropology from Oxford University and is the author of Famine that Kills: Darfur, Sudan, 1984-85 (Oxford, 1989). For the last three years he has worked for the human rights organization Africa Watch, currently as Associate Director at the London office (90 Borough High Street, London SE1 ILL), reporting and analysing famine and human rights.
