Associate Professor in the Faculty of Economics, South Asian University, New Delhi, India (e-mail: email@example.com). At the time of writing this piece he was a faculty member at the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) in the Hague. His research interests are in the areas of agrarian reforms and rural poverty as well as issues of inclusive growth. His recent publications include articles in the European Journal of Development Research and the Journal of Peasant Studies and a co-edited volume Development, Equity and Poverty: Essays in Honour of Azizur Rahman Khan (Macmillan India, 2010).
