A Change for the Better? Dutch Development Aid in Good Times and Bad Times
(firstname.lastname@example.org) Emeritus Professor of Comparative Sociology at the University of Amsterdam and remains attached as Senior Fellow to the Amsterdam Institute of Social Science Research. He has just completed a new round of fieldwork in Western India where he conducted village studies since the early 1960s. In 2009 he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate at the Institute of Social Studies at The Hague. The latest among the many books he has authored are The Poverty Regime in Village India (2007) and Outcast Labour in Asia (2010). In the past decades he has regularly contributed articles on development aid policies, mainly to Dutch journals (Internationale Spectator, Beleid en Maatschappij and S&D).
