THE PHOTOSENSITIVITY OF THE SEA URCHIN DIADEMA ANTILLARUM PHILIPPI: RESPONSES TO INCREASES IN LIGHT INTENSITY

Authors

SUMMARY

Diadema responds to increases in light intensity by spine movements, which contrary to the statements of von Uexküll, are reflexes involving the radial nerve. The receptive surface is diffuse extending over the skin, the most sensitive areas being associated with the radial nerve.
