Larvae of Potamophylax cingulmus (Stephens), Drusus annulatus Stephens, and Odontocerum albicorne (Scopoli) showed a nocturnal periodicity in their activity pattern, whereas larvae of Anabolia nervosa (Curtis) showed a diurnal periodicity. Both periodicities appeared to be controlled solely exogenously—by a direct response to current light intensity.
