| jzo947-sup-0001-si.doc | 32K | Table S1 ANOVA tables from the random effects model analysing factors influencing body mass, whole-organism BMR, mass-independent BMR and mass-specific BMR. Significant variables (marked in bold) from these analyses were included as fixed effects in the subsequent univariate and multivariate animal model analyses. Reported F statistics are the conditional Wald tests which respect marginality conditions (Gilmour et al., 2009). Although time of measurement was not significant for body mass in this dataset we still included time in the model as previous studies have demonstrated a strong effect of time of day on body mass (e.g. Husby et al. 2011). Sex was also included as a fixed effect in the body mass analyses although marginally non significant. |
