The course of the first pregnancy was described at a meeting of the Obstetrical Section of the Royal Society of Medicine in January 1948, by Dr. J. Dumoulin, then a Registrar in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the Post-Graduate Medical School of London.
