Summary
Results of the six months follow-up of 2319 women who received the English preparationof anti-D gamma globulin, and of 546 who have had a subsequent pregnancy are reported. The failure rate was found to be 0.55 and 1.6 per cent respectively.
Details are given of the 7 cases of failure of protection in the subsequent pregnancy; the infants were all mildly affected. Three cases are described, also mildly affected, of subsequent pregnancies after anti-D gamma globulin was given although the mothers had a positive enzyume test for rhesus antibodies prior to the injection. There was little correlation between the incidence of failures, the pre-injection. There was little correlation between the incidence of failures, the pre-injection Kleihauer count and the dose of anti-D gamma globulin given.
