Summary
The occurrence of ovulation cab be deduced and corpus luteum function assessed in spontaneous and gonadotrophin-induced menstrual cycles by appropriately timed plasma progesterone estimations. A screening procedure is suggested for the selection of suspect menstrual cycles requiring more detailed study of the luteal phase.
