Summary. During the period 1970–1986, 73 women with malignant trophoblastic tumours were reported in Norway. Forty-six of these women were sent a questionnaire about the course of pregnancies subsequent to treatment with methotrexate and actinomycin D. Only 30 of these women had had the desire to get pregnant; 10 had had one, 13 had had two, and six had had three further children. It is concluded that treatment with combination of methotrexate and actinomycin D is safe in terms of preserving fertility.
