Abstract

This paper focuses on resistance to gentrification-induced displacement among non-profit social services in London and Los Angeles. I identify three key strategies for ‘staying put’: private, voluntary sector embeddedness, and public sector support. Results suggested both advantages and disadvantages to resisting displacement, which also varied by city.
