Figure S1 Effects of a selective serotonergic neurotoxin, 5,7-DHT, on the SERT expression in the membrane fraction. Slice cultures were treated with 5,7-DHT (200 µM) for 2 days. Then, the slices were collected and membrane fractions were prepared as described in Materials and Methods. The expression of SERT in the membrane fraction was determined by Western blot analysis. Na+/K+-ATPase was used as a loading control. Upper panel shows representative blots of SERT and Na+/K+-ATPase. Lower graph shows densitometric analysis of SERT expression. SERT level was normalized against Na+/K+-ATPase. n = 5.
