Exotic proportion of species richness (SE/ST) and biomass/cover (ME/MT) in natural and semi-natural areas in various locations across the USA. Studies in bold are those with plot-level data shown in Figs. 1 and 2. Proportional abundance of exotics is measured as biomass in Guo (2001), as cover in all other studies. Symbol following source is that used to represent studies in Fig. 3 of main text.
