  • Today, no one expects apparent scarcity during the next two generations; hence, there is little incentive to change consumption patterns or to develop new technologies and expand prospecting. Because P is absolutely essential for the biosphere, it seems likely that with increasing concerns about scarcity, there will be a fast-growing future drive for new ways to utilize and produce P.
