Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis

The International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis is beginning the selection process for the next Editor(s)-in-Chief of the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis. Editor-in-Chief is an elected office of the Society with a single, six-year term. The six-year term of the new editor(s) will begin January 1, 2013.

Applicants should have a deep and comprehensive knowledge of both clinical investigation and basic research in thrombosis and hemostasis. In addition candidates should have a distinguished research and publication record, high standing among peers, and have served on the editorial board of a scientific publication in the past.

Candidates are invited to submit CVs and a covering letter describing their interests and qualifications for the Editorship along with a vision of future plans for the Journal. The deadline for submission is May 1, 2011.

Pier M Mannucci Awards

Prizes will be awarded to young investigators who publish articles in the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis in 2010.

The awards have been named in honour of Prof. P.M. Mannucci, the first Editor in Chief of JTH, and are made possible by a generous contribution from Bayer HealthCare. Recipients are selected by a jury of editors. Proof of age is required. Please contact for more information.

ISTH Visiting Professor Program

ISTH announces a new program targeted to Thrombosis and Hemostasis Centers in underprivileged countries. The program provides for an expert visiting professor who will offer an intensive course on a selected issue, or a series of lectures on selected topics, as agreed with the host center. The duration of the visit is four to seven days, and ISTH covers airfare, accommodation and living expenses for the Visiting Professor.

ISTH Advanced Fellowships for young colleagues from underprivileged countries

ISTH announces a new program targeted to advanced Fellows from underprivileged countries who wish to pursue knowledge and expertise in one or all of the following areas: medical care, laboratory methods, or research related to thrombosis and hemostasis. Applicants should be 37 years old or younger. Fellowships will be up to a four month period, and will include economy class travel and housing. Applications will be approved on a competitive basis by the ISTH Educational committee.

NNHF was created in 2005 as an independent, non-commercial organisation in Zurich, Switzerland, to address the significant need for improving haemophilia care and treatment in the developing world.
