The International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis is an inclusive network of scientists dedicated to research, education and improvement of the lives of those who suffer with diseases and disorders of thrombosis, hemostasis and their underlying vascular biology. Pier M Mannucci Awards
Prizes will be awarded to young investigators who publish articles in the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis in 2011.
The awards have been named in honour of Prof. P.M. Mannucci, the first Editor in Chief of JTH, and are made possible by a generous contribution from Bayer HealthCare. Recipients are selected by a jury of editors. Proof of age is required. Please contact email@example.com for more information.
ISTH Visiting Professor Program
ISTH announces a new program targeted to Thrombosis and Hemostasis Centers in underprivileged countries. The program provides for an expert visiting professor who will offer an intensive course on a selected issue, or a series of lectures on selected topics, as agreed with the host center. The duration of the visit is four to seven days, and ISTH covers airfare, accommodation and living expenses for the Visiting Professor.

ISTH Advanced Fellowships for young colleagues from underprivileged countries
ISTH announces a new program targeted to advanced Fellows from underprivileged countries who wish to pursue knowledge and expertise in one or all of the following areas: medical care, laboratory methods, or research related to thrombosis and hemostasis. Applicants should be 37 years old or younger. Fellowships will be up to a four month period, and will include economy class travel and housing. Applications will be approved on a competitive basis by the ISTH Educational committee.

Novo Nordisk Haemophilia Foundation (NNHF) website (http://www.nnhf.org) is activated
NNHF was created in 2005 as an independent, non-commercial organisation in Zurich, Switzerland, to address the significant need for improving haemophilia care and treatment in the developing world. NNHF works with partners in governments, NGOs and healthcare specialists in supporting development programmes, such as the education and training of patients, doctors, nurses and laboratory technicians, the improvement of disease diagnosis and the establishment of patient registries. ISTH-ESH Advanced Course in Thrombosis & Hemostasis
7–10 November 2011, in Cascais, Portugal. Chairs: U. Seligsohn, F. Rosendaal. We invite you to the first ISTH-ESH Training Course which is designed to provide state-of-the-art training in the biological and clinical aspects of hemostasis and thrombosis. This meeting will encompass 4 intensive days of interest to trainees in Hematology or Vascular Medicine, PhDs wishing to acquire clinical and basic knowledge in the field, and senior hematologists looking for an update. A faculty of leading scientists with vast experience in education have enthusiastically accepted to take part. Most speakers will deliver lectures and then work in close interaction with the participants on exercises relating to the analysis of laboratory issues or clinical case studies. ‘Meet the Expert’ style free discussions will also be organized, and one special evening will be devoted to selected issues of specific interest.
