Michael Ian Borer is assistant professor of sociology at Furman University where he teaches courses on urban culture and community, religion, and social theory. He holds an MA in religious studies and a PhD in sociology from Boston University. His book on the myths and meanings of Fenway Park will be published by New York University Press in 2007.
