Krister Andersson is an associate professor of political science at the University of Colorado Boulder. He uses comparative research methods to study the local governance of natural resources in developing countries. His most recent book, Local Governments and Rural Development (University of Arizona Press, 2009) compares the institutional conditions that support effective local governance of natural resources in Brazil, Chile, Mexico, and Peru.
