Transesophageal echocardiogram midesophageal four-chamber view (151°) showing a 21-mm round mobile mass with a smooth border attached to the base of the anterior leaflet of the mitral valve. The leaflets of the mitral valve were intact. There was adequate opening of the mitral valve with no evidence of obstruction.

Movie clip 2. Transesophageal echocardiogram midesophageal four-chamber view (23°) showing a round mobile mass with a smooth border attached to the base of the anterior leaflet of the mitral valve. The mass was 1.6 cm in width. The leaflets of the mitral valve were intact, with no evidence of mitral regurgitation on color Doppler.

There was a large pericardial effusion with no evidence of right ventricular diastolic compression. There was normal left ventricular systolic function.
