The present communication investigates the microwave dielectric properties of Ca2+xLa8−x(SiO4)6−x(PO4)xO2 (x = 0, 2, 4, and 6) ceramics. The ceramics have been prepared by the conventional solid state ceramic route. The compositions with x = 2 and 4 are found to be solid solutions of Ca8La2(PO4)6O2 and Ca2La8(SiO4)6O2. The composition Ca4La6(SiO4)4(PO4)2O2 (x = 2) has good microwave dielectric properties with εr = 13.8, Qu × f = 27 900 GHz at 8.47 GHz and τf = -11 ppm/°C.
