From 1985 10 1989, 13 cases of contact allergy 10 olive oil have been identified in the Departments of Dermatology of Kristianstad and östersund Hospitals. Known components of olive oil could not be proved to be the cause of the allergy. This high number of patients with contact allergy to olive oil and possible explanations are discussed.
