His primary research interests are in time series, combinatorics, probability and the statistics of finance and neuroscience.

How much is a million? How can we make sense of a number that big? Francis Galton tried to measure a million in flowers. There are other ways. In homage to the great man, Michele Bottone argues that a million is all around us, and all that is required to visualise it is a bit of ingenuity, patience and imagination.
