Associate Professor of Government and Foreign Affairs at the University of Virginia and author of Realist Thought from Weber to Kissinger (Louisiana State University Press, 1986; paper edition, 1990). He is currently writing, with Stanley Hoffman, a book on ethical choice in modem international relations.
