Introduction of Asiatic golden cat Catopumatemminckii at Taronga Conservation Society Australia

The Asiatic golden cat Catopuma temminckii is a difficult species to breed in captivity. This paper outlines two introductions and attempts made to breed the species at Taronga Conservation Society Australia. Unfortunately, both these attempts were unsuccessful. This paper will also detail the planning and processes undertaken, lessons learned and options for future trials with the hope of enabling a better understanding of the breeding behaviour of the Asiatic golden cat.
