Figure S1. Nuclear retinoid receptor mRNA levels relative to normal human melanocytes Normal human melanocytes and the indicated cell lines were grown to 80% confluence, harvested and RNA prepared using Qiagen RNeasy kit. Specific Taq Man primers for each of the nuclear receptors were obtained from Applied Biosystems. We used 18S ribosomal RNA as an internal control and to correct for different experimental samples. Data is expressed as relative amount of RNA compared to normal human melanocytes set as 1.0. Values are the mean +/- SEM where n=3. (A) WM3211 human melanoma cells derived from a radial growth phase tumor and WM3248 cells derived from a vertical growth phase tumor. (B) WM239 human melanoma cells derived from a metastatic lesion and SbCl2 cells derived from a radial growth phase tumor. (C) WM9 human melanoma cells derived from a metastatic lesion and WM1366 cells derived from a vertical growth phase tumor.
