Figure S1. Expression of HO-1 in melanocytic nevi and melanomas. Average HO-1 staining intensities in melanocytic nevi are 2.3 ± 0.64 in the epidermis and 1.82 ± 0.86 in melanocytic nevi. HO-1 staining intensities in melanomas are 2.2 ± 0.86 and 0.43 ± 0.45 in the epidermis and melanomas, respectively. HO-1 expression is significantly lower in melanomas than in melanocytic nevi (P < 0.001).
