Realistic Communication Through Assertiveness Training Techniques



ABSTRACT The recent popularity of books and seminars on assertiveness training reflects a need for more open communication. Proponents of this field have developed self-help activities which are designed to practice and improve communication. It is felt that these techniques can be adapted to the foreign language classroom since students also have trouble expressing themselves. This article proposes sixteen learning activities based on assertiveness training which can be used on all language levels to develop all four skills.
