Abstract

ABSTRACT Distance learning is increasingly being used across the country to teach students, primarily in the secondary schools. Often decisions concerning its applications in foreign languages are made by administrators and technology specialists without the involvement or even the awareness of the foreign language profession. The author raises a series of questions concerning the use of distance learning to teach languages and calls upon the profession to become engaged in this issue.
