William A. Rottschaefer is Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Lewis and Clark College, Portland, Oregon. He received his Ph.D. from Boston University. He has published articles in such journals as New Scholasticism and The Modern Schoolman. Much of his research and writing has focused on problems connected with the relationship of scientific theory and observation.
