Derrick Darby, who received his Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh in 1996, is Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Northwestern University, with interests in moral, political, and legal philosophy. His research covers problems concerning the source and value of rights. He is developing a theory of rights that grounds them in social practices.
