ABSTRACT:
The ultrasonographic examination of the blood vessels and small organs of the abdomen can be challenging and requires a high level of practice, a good knowledge of normal anatomy and high-resolution equipment. Careful patient preparation is essential for optimal image quality. The ultrasonographic examination of the abdominal blood vessels and adrenal glands are described, reviewing anatomical landmarks. Normal ultrasonographic findings and examples of common pathological findings associated with the abdominal blood vessels and the adrenal glands are illustrated.
