Personality, reinforcement and verbal operant conditioning

Gray's hypothesis of greater conditionability of individuals having high scores on both neuroticism and extraversion (N+E+) under rewarding conditions, and high scores on neuroticism and low scores on extraversion (N+E-) under punishing conditions, was put to the test. Taffel's sentence completion task was used for determining the level of verbal operant conditioning. The analysis of variance and post hoc comparisons by the LSD test lent support to Gray's hypothesis.
