Decanting the chianti

After a holiday in Tuscany, we would often drive back to London bringing a 50-L demijohn of chianti. Decanting the wine into local chianti bottles was a family ritual: the children would take it in turn to blow into plastic tubing to siphon off the wine. Sucking was banned. None of the eight children, now all grown up, has an alcohol problem.
