Abstract

Old English and Anglo-Saxon studies have consistently embraced the opportunities offered by IT and the new technologies. Taking a retrospective look to begin with this article will consider the range of applications, why this might have been so, and then look to present future directions. This will cover online learning (elearning), digitization, text analysis, social media and user-generated content, finishing with a warning about the new skillset that scholars in the field will need to acquire.
