liv12266-sup-0002-Supplreference.pdfapplication/PDF36KData S1. Effects of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi or Bupleurum chinense DC on serum AST and ALT levels in BALB/c and C57BL/6J mice. Herb-induced autoimmune hepatitis model was made by treating medicinal herbs or Sil for 4 and 8 weeks in BALB/c (□) and C57BL/6J (■) mice. Serum aspartate transaminase (AST) and alanine transaminase (ALT) were measured using a colorimetric analyzer as described in Methods. Veh, vehicle; Sb, Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi; Bc, Bupleurum chinense DC; Sil, silymarin. *< 0.05 vs. vehicle group (one-way analysis of variance, ≥ 6). The results showed that the autoimmune-like hepatitis occurs at different time in C57BL/6 and BALB/c mice, namely, at 4 wk in the former one and at 8 wk in the latter after herbs treatment.
