Appendix S1: Thin sections of the Apollo 16 Station 13 soil samples investigated in this study are displayed by transmitted light micrographs. Micrographs with plane and crossed polarizers are combined to illustrate the petrographic and shock metamorphic features of the samples. Note that all mineral show unusual interference colours because the available thin sections are substantially thicker than common 25 μm.
Appendix S2: Electron microprobe analyses.
Appendix S3: 40Ar/39Ar data.
