This article corrects:

  1. Domestication of honey bees was associated with expansion of genetic diversity Volume 21, Issue 18, 4409–4411, Article first published online: 11 September 2012

I wish to correct an error in my Perspective (Oldroyd 2012) on the article by Harpur et al. (2012). In the Perspective, I incorrectly stated that humans have kept bees for 7,000 years, citing Bloch et al. (2010). In fact, Bloch et al. date beekeeping in Tel Rehov in the Jordan valley of northern Israel to 3,000 years ago. I apologize for the error.
